No more please

I know I've posted quite a few times out the weather in the past month or so. But it's so hard not to when SNOW and a lot of it, is what we are dealing with.

Yesterday the weatherman predicted a storm to come in around 11am and blow out by 3 pm. - WRONG!

The storm came in around 2pm and by 3:30 when I left work it had only gotten worse. It took me 1 1/2 hour to get home from work. The roads were just a mess! I was surprised with the prediction that there weren't more snowplows out working on the roads.

But my commute home was NOTHING compared to my little sisters. She gets off around 5ish I believe. She takes the train to her car. And drives home. Easy peasy right. Not so much. It ended up taking her probably 6 1/2 hours to get to her house. And that's if she left right at 5pm. The roads to her city were closed for a while and they were deverting everyone to a side road from what I understand from my mom's updates. The snowplows would clear a section of the road off -- let 10 cars drive through then have to go back and clear them again. At one point in her commute she drove 100 yards in an hour. Luckily she had a full take a gas, but was almost out of cell phone battery. I would have gone crazy without my phone and stuck in traffic for 6 hours! In the same area there were kids stuck in school buses and probably didn't get home until after 11pm. Also about 300 students were unable to leave school and had to sleep at the school. It was just a crazy storm with major winds. Not to mention the good weather (40-45 degrees) we've had a few days before that almost completely melted all the snow. So everything was nice and wet for the freezing tempurtures.

So for everyone who is praying for "moisture" (I hate that word) STOP! I'm done. Bring on the heat!

No good very bad day

I should have stayed in bed today.

I Decided to get the grocery shopping done for the week. It's either now or never. So off I went to the local Walmart to pick up some supplies. Only to get my car stuck in the ice. The front wheel slid into a hole and my car would not come out. And of course I left my phone at home. Not that it would have helped, the husband is out shooting things somewhere in the snowy desert with my brother in law. Of course I got stuck right in front of a family loading their car with grocerys. Did they offer to help. NOPE! They packed the car up and left. I HATE PEOPLE SOMETIMES. So I walked in found the first male employee with a walkie and told him my car is stuck in his STUPID parking lot. He was able to round up a few other men and out they came to push me out. Once free I left. I was crying and there was no way I'd be able to go shopping in my state of mind. Maybe it's the hormones or I was just embarrassed but I cried all the way home. I'm so tired of the cold, the snow, the ice and everything else. So now we still have no grocerys.

I just want to crawl back into bed and sleep.

Brrr it's cold in here....

Wow almost two weeks since my last post. The reason? Because NOTHING IS HAPPENING! I'm so over Winter. I hate the snow, I hate the cold and I hate my heater being blown out in the middle of the night so our house is a chilling 57 degrees when we wake up!

I haven't bought grocery's in over a week because I can't bring myself to leave the house once the sun goes down. It's too cold and too windy to leave the house to go buy frivilous things like food. We don't even have food storage to turn to, so we either eat what's leftover in the freezer or order pizza. Let someone else brave the cold to bring us food. I even thought about ordering grocery's online and having them delivered to our house. I'd pay an extra $50 to have it delivered.

I just want it to stop snowing, to stop blowing snow and for the sun to come out from hidding.

End of Winter Snowstorm

Yesterday was a beautiful day. It was in the high 50's and life was good.

Today not so much.

We woke up to snow.

Lucky for me it's Presidents Day, which means traffic was only a 1/4 of what it normally is. My biggest pet peeve though while driving: Is SUV's and other 4-wheeled vehicles. They drive like it's the first time they have ever seen snow.
- Driving down the middle of the line because they can't decide which lane to drive in.
- Driving super slow. I know it's snow, but it's the wet kind and the roads are plowed GOOD, and you have 4 - WHEEL DRIVE!
- Because these dumb driver are driving in the middle of the lines they are splashing up all the slush that is accumulating on the road. Which makes driving next or right behind them fun.

Sorry to anyone who owns these type of vehicles, I'm sure you don't fit in the dumb SUV/4 Wheeled vehicle category. I mean we own a 4-wheel drive vehicle and someday I hope to have a SUV. I just know I'm not going to be like these dumb people. I mean me in my little car passing these slow drivers in their big ole SUV's, WTH?

Wind + Morning = No sleep

Can someone please tell Mother Nature, that it is not cool to have a massive wind storm including hail at 4:30 in the morning.

I was ripped from my slumber to the most horrible sound. I honestly thought our house was going to be blown away. It's not very often we get a hellish North wind; so the sound of the wind and hail pounding our bathroom window was very unnerving. But I couldn't be the only one woken by the wind. So I did my spousal duty and woke the husband up too.

But once the initial shock of the wind wore off he was back to sleep, while I was worried about everything that could be blowing away in our backyard, including our fence. Not to mention when I finally did fall back asleep all I dreamt about was the wind.

Living on the the corner next to the park has it's advantages. We don't have nosey neighors getting into our business, we don't have to worry about noisy neighbors either. But when it comes to the wind and not having other houses to help take the brunt of the force, it gets pretty lonely.
