Harry Potter Day

Okay I'll admit I'm a Harry Potter nerd. I'm not the nerd that dresses up in Harry Potter outfits (wizard clothes, quidditch clothing, or any of that weird stuff) but I am a nerd in the sense that my family and I are going to Barnes and Noble at 8pm and hang out there until Midnight when the book goes on sale. My sister and her son were at Barnes and Noble last night in line to get their wristband for the book. She got number 8!!!

A little Harry Potter History: Here is how we got introduced to Harry Potter. My sister and her family and I were at a nearby lake one beautiful Saturday afternoon. We were on our way home when we saw a book in the middle of the road on the dam. There was noone around so we quickly stopped, I jumped out and grabbed the book and we were off. The book sounded weird... Harry Potter and the Sorcereours Stone. Looked like a kids book too. We decided to give it to my youngest brother he was barely in Hight School at the time (I think). He's kind of weird and he likes weird books like wizards and stuff like that. Next thing we knew he was calling us muggles and going on about spells. Well that peaked our interest and we looked the book up on Amazon.com and found out there was a book #2 coming out and it seemed like it was going to be a series. So we bought book #2 and we all took turns reading #1 and #2. From that moment on we were sucked into the world of Harry Potter. We found the books before there was the huge rush so we feel like we were one of the first fans of Harry Potter. Maybe we were and maybe we wern't but nonetheless we were hooked.

So we will be at Barnes and Noble tonight from 8-whenever we get out hands on the book. And then we will all be devouring the book before sunrise to find out what happens next.

I had amnesia once......or twice.

I've actually pre-ordered the book, but if you tell anyone, I'll kill you, just try me.
Denying my nerdy-i-ness till my dying day.

I didn't even read your post yet! I just had to comment. You are actually my age! haha Ok, back to reading your blog.

ok, read your post. I am not a Harry Potter fan. I might be if I ever watched it but I guess it never really peaked my interest. Ah well, I guess I'm more of a Vince Vaughn fan. ha ha

They are sisters and wonderful writers--very fun to read.

I hate to say it though, I'm with Steph...I'm more of an Owen Wilson kinda gal.

yeah, I'm with you, Wendi. NO Harry Potter for me...while my husband spent his weekend reading the book, I spent my weekend blogging...it's a fair trade-off, don't you think?!
