So yesterday we had the inlaws over for dinner. Everything went well. We were walked them outside to say goodbye. Bob and I sat on our porch because it was a nice night. When we decided to go inside we realized that our power was off. We went back outside and tried to figure out if anyone elses power was off. One side of the street was on but ours was not. So what better thing to do when all the lights are off... we went for a walk. We walked around our block then we walked a bit further. It was really fun to just walk and look at other peoples yards. We kind of get caught up in our own little world and don't venture too far from home. We met a few of our neighbors who were taking advantage of the power outage outside. I really like our subdivision, it's newer so the houses just look nice. I think we will need to take more walks, and hopefully meet more people. Living on a corner next to a park kind of secludes us from the rest of the world.
It was funny though on the way home we came across a kitten. He was the friendliest cat I've every met. He followed us home just like a little puppy. He hung out on our porch with us and when he got bored he left. Abbie of course was watching from the window by the door. I was worried about the kitten though, he just crossed the street like he didn't have a care in the world. I'm glad Abbie is an inside cat.

Hmmm...I can think of PLENTY of things to do when the lights go out! (walking is NOT one of them!)
Yeah but if we "do" anything else he goes to sleep.
whoah! honey, haven't you ever heard of Dr. John's or Fredericks? there are THINGS you can do to prevent that!
I should have said he goes to sleep right after... I just wear him out :o)
if you ever want to punish him "do" that first...then go for a walk...
doesn't he usually go to sleep the instant his head hits the pillow anyway? sorry, Wendy, but I don't think he cares WHAT she does after!
Yes he does sleep the minute his head hits the pillow, and I use to sneak out of the house when we first got married, I'd "put him to bed" then go to my sisters or shopping... he he he.
