28 years ago, two daughters were born to a husband and a wife that had waited 4 long years for children. But the birth didn't come without complications. It seemed that the two couldn't decide who wanted to be born first. One was trying to leave feet first while the other had her umbilical cord wrapped around her sisters neck. Quick decisions by the doctor, a C-section was performed. Four doctors each grabbed a foot, one, two three... pull. 2 very healthy baby girls.

Yes that is how my sister and I entered the world 28 years ago. Unfortunetly she had been sitting on me the entire nine months so as my grandmother put it, "you were an ugly baby, but we knew you'd grow out of it." I've never seen pictures of my self from right after I was born, but from what I was told basically my eyes were on each side of my face. I'm glad that didn't last long. All I need is to grow up looking like Sloth from "The Goonie's".

I love birthdays. I love holidays. Not just because I get presents but because I love celebrating. I love to celebrate life and all the ups and downs that it brings us. I'm slowly bringing my husband into my love of celebrating. With his family they don't celebrate. They don't do parties. They don't have traditions.

So here is a happy birthday not just to me, but to my sister as well.

Happy birthday to both you and your sister!!! That was a funny and well-written post.. and it's kind of funny that she sat on your face - or at least that's how you see it all these years later.

Have a great celebration!!!
