Last night as I was getting ready to go visit my mom in the hospital (she had to have her Gall Bladder removed) there was a knock at the door. I thought it was my nephew because he was still in the car waiting for me and his mom. When I opened the door there stood two older gentlemen in white tie and suit coats. It could have been Mormon Missionaries but they were too old, It could have been Jehovia Witnesses but I recognized them. They were guys from the church that I belong too. I recognized them from visiting us about a year before when we first moved into our house and I recognized them because I see them every Sunday at church. They introduced themselves to me and mentioned that they visited last year. Yup I remember. Then they invited us to come back to church.... screeech!!!! Umm we go every week. I have a calling in the Primary with the 3 year olds and my husband is in Young Mens with the 12-18 year olds. The only time we've missed Church is when we are out of town. I'm very active with the Relief Society (18 and older).
So why are these two guys on our doorstep inviting me BACK to church? My only conclusion is we must be invisible. Maybe we've been going to Church every week and no one has seen us. Weird I swear I've talked to people... but maybe it's like they can see dead people but instead of being dead we're invisible. We are in a house with no neighbors. The houses on the other three corners all face different directions from us. We have a park on the other side of us. And our neighbor behind us is well behind us with a huge 10-12 foot fench so it's not even like we can be like Home Improvement and talk over the fench to them. We also don't have children (heaven forbid to live in Utah and not pro-create) so that leaves us out of the 99.9% of people with kids in the Ward. So maybe we are invisible, maybe without kids and without neighbors we are one of those people. The ones that everyone is wondering who really lives in that house? They never see us outside and when they do it's only when they are driving past, we might get a honk or a wave but that's about it. We live on the edge of our church boundries, we are also the only one in our Ward with our street address, therefore we are the odd ones out.
Strike one - no kids
Strike two - no neighbors
Strike three - only one with a certain street address
Yeah we must be invisible. We've also been switched many times into the other ward. It's like a custody fight, except each Ward is trying to get rid of us. Yup, love my church but wonder about the members sometimes.

wow... now that's interesting. sounds to me like you're not getting up in testimony meeting enough! :)
the last time i felt invisible was when some chick ran into my car while I was just sitting at a stop sign. yes... i understand that a black car is hard to spot on a sunny, cloudless day.
wow, that's BAAAAD. I don't even know what to say. Perhaps nytro is right...you should get up more often on fast and testimony day.
Either that or tell him you want nothing to do with the church. (maybe then they'll make regular visits, send you notes, and invite you to all of the activities!) LOL
Dumb ass. Just tell them you've been ill and need dinner before you can come to church.
Ooops, sorry, they're the dumb ass, not you JM, sorry that wasn't clear.
maybe you should wear something crazy and wild so everyone knows who you are For example color your hair Bright Pink each morning. wear Hunter orange skirts/blouses. Laugh at the most inappropriate times during lessons, Talk to everyone about nothing HI did you see American Idol last night then walk away before an answer. Walk up to the men and say so how about that Hemi huh huh
