Ever wonder what your pet does while your away?
We always figured that Abbie just sleeps all day long because really what else is he going to do? Normally when we are home during the weekends he is just sleeping. Yes he is that lazy.
The Friday before New Years my boss let me take a short day. It was a quite day and we hadn't had a phone call in hours. So I went home and vegged on my couch. Yes I'm that lazy... lol. Anyways Abbie was wandering around the kitchen (we have an open floorplan so I can see the kitchen from our living room they are all connected). I look over into the kitchen and Abbie was on our Fridge. Which means he had jumped from the counter to the Fridge top. Then he got up on the ledge above our cabinets. My cat was walking on our ledges. It was so funny! So of course I took picutres.
Yesterday when I got off work. Abbie was standing in the doorway of our mudroom looking really guilty. When I walked into the kitchen he was close on my heels. And there laying in the middle of the floor was a flower arrangement, that had previously been on the ledge above the Fridge. I asked him if he had been on the ledge again and knocked the plant down (you can see the arrangement to the left of the picture). He just meowed at me. Silly Cat!
Well now I know what he is doing while I'm at work I guess.

cats love to be high, and they also like to sit up high where they can overlook their domain (there's a joke in there... but it's pretty lame).
i get nervous when i come home and bailey looks all nervous like she knows she's about to get yelled at for something she's done. she's like that the most during christmas time, when she's been known to pluck ornaments off the tree and smash them into a thousand little peices.
At least your cat felt guilty! Mine try to hide the evidence by stashing the broken item under a chair or table. Then they act extra sweet so I will give them treats. Damn cats have me all figured out.
If I was a cat - that's where I would be hanging too.. so I really can't blame him. Someone's got to keep an eye on the place while your gone and that looks like just the spot!
holli - exactly that way he can plan an attack if we have a break in he's our watch cat.
Man, my dogs are just the same. Ms. Maggie Magee is super lazy (bulldog), but the other day I came home and she had pulled every pair of shoes I own out of the closet.
I can always tell when my girls have done something bad while we are out. They don't come running to the door right away when we get home, which is the norm. Yesterday, after running errands I returned home to find Portia sitting in the middle of the floor looking guilty. A little detective work found my bath loopha ripped to shreds in my tub. How they crawled up the slick laminate sides of the shower, I have no idea...
