As I mentioned last week we got an exercise bench. It's really nice and we finally got it all put together on Saturday. I'm really quite excited to use it. After we had it all put together I mentioned that maybe we should build the exercise room first. That way it gives us a definite place to workout and hopefully we would use it often. The husband was all for it. But now he is obsessed with it! He's planning out how to frame the room, how to do the electrical, where the door needs to be, and so on. In my mind I figured that the room would come along in the next year. We would save and work little by little on it. Nope, with my tunnel vision husband he wants it done NOW. He asked me yesterday if I've decided where I want the door. Ummm, no, I didn't know it was something that needed to be decided NOW!
It's really nice to have a driven husband. He's so good at getting things done. But to the point were it's just annoying. Nearly the day we moved into our house he was figuring out what to do with the basement. He wanted to have the basement completed in a few months after we moved in! We did not have the money to do that at the time. In reality we didn't need the basement finished because it's just the two of us. Upstairs there are three rooms. Plenty of space for us not to see each other for a few days other then maybe meals. I am really excited about getting the exercise room done. Dont' get me wrong I want it done as soon as possible, it would be fun to have an actual place to work out other then the unfinished basement with cement floors. But right.now?
So we are buying more lumber and sheetrock this week to start framing the room. It will be nice when it's framed because I can start to decorate. Now that is something I am excited about.

by the time you get done building the room you'll be in such great shape you won't need the equipment!!
My New Blog!
i feel you, sister. i feel you. that's all i'm going to say about that.
My husband is the complete opposite. If I ask him to do something, he starts doing it, then gets distracted with another project. It takes him approximately six months to finish one tiny project that should take a week. I think I need to look into ADD medication for him.
Sigh.. I need someone with tunnel vision to come help me get focused on packing. Maybe your husband can send some motivated energy this way. I'm just looking around and thinking.. where do I start??
Hey - at least getting your exercise room gives you new blogging material. and isn't that the point??
I remember when you moved in. Forget touring the house--he insisted on giving me a tour of the unfinished basement! (and all of his grand plans...)
LOL, good luck with all that. hey, if you need a someone to sand and mud...you know who to call!
miss tude' - That is true
Nytro - glad to know you understand
Loriloo - Your right ADD would be worse then a tunnelvision husband if we had the money for all the projects he wants to do.
Holli- My husband had all our stuff packed to move when we lived in an apartment a month before we were moving. It drove me up the wall. So of course I'd lend my husband to help you pack!
Little Miss - he does that with everyone even a year after we moved in!!
I am so like your husband and my husband is the complete opposite. He has the "it's not going anywhere, so why rush?" mentality and I'm the frantic "we have to get it done RIGHT NOW!!" Makes for some interesting home improvment projects and usually ends up with me on a ladder doing something I have no business doing and he getting all upset because I touched his tools!
