I AM just a concerned citizen

Today's post is brought to you by last night's excitement.

But before I get to what happened last night around 11:00 pm... )damn you little miss for not being online so I could give play by plays to!) I'm going to tell about the encounters I've had with police or calling 911 (for non-emergency's)

I've been pulled over many many times for speeding. Knock on wood but I've been good for the past three years, let's hope my luck continues. I've tried everything from crying to begging for forgiveness. The few times (three) I've actually gotten out of the ticket I've done nothing to prevent the ticket. I accepted that I was speeding and showed no remorse. And the cops let me off with a warning. The lesson I learned....Accept responsibility and move one I guess.

I sold Magazines door to door one summer. It was interesting to say the least. Since we never stayed in a state longer then a week we didn't get soliciting licenses. When we were in Ohio (I think) we were in a small town doing the door to door thing, when the police picked us all up and drove us to the edge of town. He said he could have arrested us but he'd give us a warning and let our driver know where to pick us up that day. Needless to say I didn't get the sales that day.

I've called the cops a few times on drivers. One day in particular I was behind a fellow that was weaving very dangerously on a residential road. I had been following him for about about 10 minutes and he was just not acting right. We had even gone through a crosswalk where kids were waiting to cross. Luckily he had enough sense to stop. But then he just sat there, like he wasn't sure if he could go, even when the crossing guard waved him through. Very frustrating. So I followed behind him and called the cops. Let them know what he had done and that I thought he might be drunk. When he got to his house I told them his address and waited just down the street giving the police a play by play as to what he was doing. I had to leave before the police got there because I was late for a prior engagement.

As for what happened last night. I was on my computer trying to get some programs to work the way they should and I heard a very loud vehicle slam on their break on the corner. I looked out the window just in time to see a truck in the middle of the four way stop intersection just down the street, back up down the street gun his engine and run over the stop sign. There was no question that he didn't do it on purpose. I waited a few second to see if I could get his license plate then ran to turn out the lights, so I could watch him in the dark in case he tried to take out the other stop signs. Unfortunately from my angle and the time it took to get back to the window, I saw what direction he had gone but not if he had turned the corner or not. I quickly called the police and reported what I had seen. About 15 minutes later the police arrived at my house. I met him outside and described what I had seen from up the street, and what the truck looked like. He told me he'd drive around the neighborhood to see if he could see a vehicle that fit my description. He was back within a few minutes and we walked up the street and sure enough there it was. I told him I wasn't 100% sure it was the truck but he said that was good enough. He parked his car outside their house, looked around a bit then got back into his squad car. About 5 minutes later another police car showed up (back-up). 2 minutes later another squad car was on the scene... Holy shit! So he must have found evidence that that guy was the one. A bit later a fourth police truck showed up but didn't stay long. I couldn't see much from my point of view so I sat and waited. I waited until 12:30 but still couldn't see anything. It was very exciting yet disappointing because I wanted to see action. But I'm sure they wouldn't have stayed for over an hour if it wasn't the guy. I'm sure he was the guy that had driven through the park when it had snow also... Dumb ass. I hope he gets what's coming to him! I also hope I don't get subpoenaed to give my testimony... Scary!

So there are a few of my cop stories, I'm just a concerned citizen... Right?

over christmas, benny and i were sitting in our living room watching the evening news... when all of the sudden we heard a pop pop POP! it sounded like gunfire, so being the street savvy gangsta that i am, i hit the ground and started crawling on my belly to the phone. ben, being the common sense of the two of us, ran to the window and looked out. someone had thrown fireworks in our front yard and driven off. we ran outside and then we heard it again and looked down the street to our neighbors who had fireworks on their lawn, too. instead of calling the cops, we jumped in our car and took off after the firework throwers... we couldn't find them, but we did see a 'suspicious' vehicle cruising the neighborhood. luckily, we ran into a cop that was hiding in the school parking lot and told him what we saw. just call us nancy drew.

That's awesome! I love calling the cops for things. While driving to Dallas a semi tried to run me and my companions off the road, TWICE! We called 911 and got the creep arressted. I think he'd been hittin' the juice.

I'm a concerned citizen.. someone rammed me on purpose day before yesterday, but I only got a partial plate. I'm not sure if I should call the police or not. How do I know he did it on purpose? Because he said "you better move that car, B****" tapped the back of my car - and I said (out the window) "DID YOU JUST HIT ME???" and he said "not yet" and BAM!!!!

F'er!!! We were at the pharmacy getting sick Faith's prescriptions and she was in the car!! Crazy people.

Why don't you call 911 for me!

OMG Holli! I totally would have called the police even with a parcial they probably could catch him. I called the police about someone that tried running me off the road once, It was very scary and he definitly had road rage.
