Good deeds are hard!

Yesterday when I got home from work I decided to mow our lawn. We live on a corner so our front and side yard is alot bigger then most yards in our neighborhood. And our house is on a slight uphill grade. So I read the instructions on the handle as to how to start the lawnmower. I finally get it started and off I go. It's a bit of work on the park strip but I get it done. Then the lawn mower runs out of gas. So I find the gas tank my husband has stored in the garage and figure out how to get the gas from the container to the mower.

Now it's time to start on the main lawn. This is where the work starts. I have to push the mower up the hill. It's a lot of work. Did I mention we live on the expressway of our neighborhood? It's one of the main roads to get to any other part of the neighborhood which means EVERYONE has to drive past our house to get to and from their house. So I huff and I puff and I'm pushing the mower up and down the "slight" grade of our yard, until finally it's finished. And of course I'm doing this in the middle of the day so it's pretty hot. I still have the backyard to complete but I'm totally worn out. So I decided the husband can finish the back - even though it's the easier of the two. But I was tired of looking at our long yard and even longer dandelions so the front HAD to be mowed.

When the husband got home from work I proudly showed him my accomplishments. He told me he was proud and since I did such a good job I could mow the lawn from now on. I told him I wouldn't me mowing the lawn anytime soon until we got one of those self-propelling lawnmowers.

He kind of looked at me weird and said IT was self propelled. Sorry buddy but I had to work my ass off to get it up the hill that we had. He then told me about the second handle underneath the handle that makes it stay on. Yeah that's the handle that self propells it, hold both of them and it's a cake walk. Yeah that would have been nice to know AN HOUR AGO!!!

So needless to say I've learned a lesson and if the self propelled mowing is as easy as he says it is, I also have a new "chore". Fun for me!

Hahahahahaha! Sorry, I'm not laughing at you, I promise. But wow, that gave me a chuckle. Sounds like something I would do. Hence, I do not even attempt to mow the lawn.

LMAO!

I thought doing this sort of thing with my Kirby was wasted effort!

You poor thing! And in this horrid heat, too!

We finally got a riding mower (We have almost an acre so it is justified)....Ah...bliss.
