Las Vegas Recap

So here is my weekend wrap-up.

Wednesday night the husband and I headed to Las Vegas. It's about a 6+ hour (depending on how fast one can drive) to Las Vegas. We ended up staying in a small small town for the night at my husband's friends nieces house (did you get all that). And to make a small world smaller, I went to school with the girl and her sister -- WEIRD! When we got to the house it was 2 degrees. THAT'S 2 degree's! When we woke up it was -11 degrees. What kind of town is this?

We arrived in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon. We went to a buffet at the Aladdin (suppose to be the #1 buffet - and it was pretty good). My husband loves Buffet. We walked around the strip for a few hours - then checked into the Luxor. My favorite hotel! Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE Egypt. And I've always wanted to stay at the Luxor.

The Las Vegas Bowl game started at 5:00. We left our hotel two hours before kickoff. And it took us the full two hours to make the 6 mile drive to the stadium. But we did make it for the Kick-off.

The game was awesome. Did I mention how much I love going to games! Our seats weren't perfect, actually they were at pretty much the highest point in the stadium. But we were able to see the whole field and it was a good game. Especially because BYU won. Not just won but creamed the Oregan Ducks.

At the end of the game we rushed the field. And becuase we were closer to the middle of the field we ended up dropping down a 8-9 foot wall. I ended up having to hang from the bars and drop down the remaining distance. It was fun brushing shoulders with the rest of the fans and the football players.

Friday was spent walking the strip. Checking out the shops. I love the Forum Shops! I bought my sisters something from the Playboy store. We also played the slot machines. We aren't big spenders so we mostly just played the penny slots. But it was fun and it killed 2 or 3 hours.

I loved the decorations in the casinos and the shopping centers!

Saturday we checked out of our hotel and headed to Hoover Dam. Both the husband and I have probably been there before with our families but neither of us remember it. So since we were close by and didn't have a schedule to stick to we decided to make a detour. It was pretty cool. Definitly the biggest Dam I've seen. The only bad thing is it cost to take tours and to go to the visitor center. grrr.

The trip was awesome and our Christmas was great. But it's back to the real world now. Thank goodness for New Years, just another day off!

I love the picture of you in the beenie hat!

I remember going to Hoover Dam. It freaks me the heck out. SHUDDER. I am afraid of heights and so going is pretty much a "Nauseated with fear" experience.

FUN!!! Your gigantic balls make mine pale in comparison.

I freaking love Vegas - I'm so jealous. It looks like you all had a BLAST!. I could spend days glued to the slot machines. I ate at the really nice restaurant at the Luxor the last time I was there and it was wonderful.

wait a minute...are you even old enough to gamble? I mean, as I recall, last time we were there, we kept getting kicked out of every casino!!

I'm glad the weather cooperated for you! It was a bit warmer and thankfully no snow. And I should have warned you about the traffic. On that game day you pretty much have to get there about four to six hours early and just tailgate it to make sure you don't get stuck in traffic. And if you are not going to the game (like me) and heading to work (like me) it is good to know back roads to take since every major highway is jammed with cars in that area.
