It's been a tough week emotionally for me, which is 1/2 the reason I haven't posted a new blog entery for a while. I think I'm getting burnt out from this blog. I feel like there isn't anything exciting in our life to talk about. I think sometimes we just need to take a mini break from the things that we normally do and just focus our attention on something else.
Today I have a phone consult with my infertility doctor to find out the results of a test my husband took as well as a blood test that I took. Each test will tell us if our bodies are doing what they naturally should be doing. I'm really nervous. I'm not sure why, I mean we were able to get pregenent the one time (even if it ended in a misscarriage). And of course I have to work late tonight so when I get the phone call I will most likely be at the office with attorney's here. Hopefully the phones stay quite so I can have my phone consult with the doctor and not be interupted. I'd hate to put him on hold especially since we have to pay for the consult! Grrr. So this afternoon I will find out what the next step in our journey to have children will be.
Next is the stress that we've been having trying to build a room in our basement. We've done all the work ourselves and it was going pretty well until we started painting. I wanted vertical stripes on our walls. Easy enough in theory. We got the walls taped in the lines that we wanted and started to paint. When we took off the blue painters tape it took off the primer and the first layer of dry wall paper. It's like the painters tape was TOO sticky! So we had to take down all the tape and repair the walls. Luckily spakle did the trick. We've since bought tape that doesn't take everything it sticks to off. But one of the seams on our ceiling that we taped, mudded, primed and painted bubbled and peeled. When we touched the paint it was wet even though it had been painted 3 or 4 days before. Also the area that we mudded was cracked and also wet. This area is a low ceiling because all our pipes and air duct runs through that room. So we were able to get up into that portion of the roof from the room next to it to see if pipes were leaking. Nothing, Nada, Zilch. There was no moisture whatsoever above that area. So it's wet on the bottom but not on the top. Yeah weird. So if there are any contractors or home repair expertise out there please tell me what is going on. The area isn't right next to a window. We tried to repair the area but mudding it better and more coats. But 3 or 4 days later the same problem happened. WTF. The are at a complete loss. Unless our pipes only leak when we've mudded then they are out to get us.
Add onto that the stress that I've been having at work and I'm pretty much in shut down mode right now. So forgive me if I don't post often. Until my life gets back to where I feel like we are normal it's going to be pretty slow here in blog land.

I think that it is very normal to take breaks from blogging. I've done it several times!
That is so bizarre about your house. I have no idea whatsoever, but it sounds very frustrating. Here is to chasing away the remodeling heebie jeebies!
I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you received the news you wanted and are able to move forward with the doctor. I can imagine how frustrating all of that must be. And everyone takes breaks. Blogging should be theraputic, not a hinderance. If it gets to be that way, stop for a while or forever. I will miss you, but would understand.
Any home project is a pain! While doing things yourself is more rewarding and cost effective, I always think man, I should just hire someone to do it for me!
I hope you received some good news at your Dr appointment. Infertility stuff is soooo draining, I can see why you needed a break from blogging.
Well, all that on top of taking care of me all week long, arranging a ride home from the airport, going to see a an old friend, spending the night with me (talking until we literally fell asleep mid sentence), running last minute errands with my mom and I (don't forget the chocolates!), going with us to have lunch w/ my brother, taking me to meet a new friend, stopping at Training Table for the traditional gotta-have-it grease-fest, and then to the airport--watching to make sure I make it through security with my Lucy plant!!
you are the best, and yes, you have been a bit preoccupied. I think we can ALL see why...
