Just another holiday

I don't consider today a holiday. A holiday is a day I DON'T HAVE TO WORK. And today I'm at work.

Also I'm not a fan of Valentines day. Never have been. I hate that restraunts are too busy -- which makes the wait time horrible, and I hate that flower prices are jacked up just because they know Valentines IS a flower holiday. I'm not a fan of chocolate so the husband can't just get me a box of chocolates and call it good. I do however like the candies. I love that valentines is a red, pink and white holiday which makes all the candy flavors - strawberry, watermelon, and cherry.

So we aren't doing anything special. Not because the husband doesn't want to. He called me this morning to wish me a Happy Valentines Day, and to see if I wanted to do something. But I don't. My idea of doing "something" is doing nothing. Maybe we'll go buy a box of candy hearts and watch a movie at home. Now that's a Valentines day I can handle.

Anyways this is my attempt at wishing everyone a Happy Valentines Day.

AMEN to that!!! I think Vday is somewhat silly and I don't let DH do anything for me and I don't do anything for him...except maybe a card. I've never been a big Valentine person and I don't think I ever will be one.

But Happy Vday anyway :) lol

Jon and I never do anything "ON" the day, but we do like the chance to go out on a date during the week sometime.

I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day (whether you have someone to celebrate with or not) because it's a forced "I love you" holiday. I want someone to bring me flowers because he loves me, not because it's "on the calendar to do something nice for your lover"--a word I HATE by the way, lover. Grrr.

and besides that, for those who are dating, it's a make-it or break-it holiday. Twice I've been dumped on Valentine's...by the only two guys I've ever been "in love" with (or so I thought until I met my husband).

But like LL said, it's a good excuse for a date night, and I'm all about the date nights!

I too hate Valentine's Day but my hubby tried to make it special for me. He did good with his presents, but we didn't do anything either because I don't care. Doing nothing is good.
