Really not much has been going on. Work has been unbelievably slow lately, which would make for great time to blog except I don't have much to blog about.
We made it to Vegas and back in one piece. Of course I didn't realize until 1/2 way there that I had forgotten my camera (and trying to get pictures emailed is like pulling teeth). A bit tired from late nights and long drives but I still made it to work on time Monday morning so no harm. I did have to leave early because I had no voice and was feeling pretty worthless at work but it helped me get some much needed sleep in. The house that we finally ended up with was perfect. It was beautiful and the pool was so much fun. We could have gone to Vegas and not stepped a foot on the strip and I would have been happy. But of course what's Vegas without a little fun on the strip? We had dinner at the Tournament of the Kings at the Excaliber. It was a blast. Dropped a few coins in the slot machines, the husband won some money on the Jazz game, we shopped, I got a new Coach purse -- thanks to my boss! I got a great sunburn (which hurt at first but for me sunburning is the only way for me to tan). And I know that I should wear sunscreen I'm going to pay later on in life, but it's so hard for me, and I only think about it later when I'm suffering. Could've, Would've, Should've -- as I like to say.
After we got back from our wonderful weekend vacation, we had some wonderful surprises. Found out a major valve in our sprinklers is busted. That's what we get for not draining our sprinkler systems early enough. Our lawn is now overgrown with dandelions and dying from lack of water. So #1 priority is to get that fixed. Isn't being a homeowner fun? Also driving home from work last Monday afternoon a piece of wood was flipped up from a passing car and smashed into my windshield. I now have huge, pretty circular crack in the middle of my windshield. Needless to say that needs to get fixed -- ASAP. Also this is the final week that my husband has to go to traffic school. I just know he's going to forget or get tied up with work and the $50 that we had to pay is going to go down the drain. Time to kick on my nagging wife switch I guess.
And last. We found out that the group that we hang out with in our neighborhood is now considered a clique. So we went from group to clique... I wonder when we will be considered a gang. It's actually pretty funny, it's like we are the cool kids in the neighborhood and everyone wants to be our friends. Even the high school kids that go to our church are accusing us of having a clique. Are they jealous because they aren't in our group? Do they really want to hang out with a bunch of married people with kids? Yea I didn't think so either. It doesn't matter what they say, we are allowed to hang out with any groups that we want -- clique or not, they are our friends. We enjoy doing things with them, we all have common interests, we help each other in hard times, and a lot of us have been through the same situations so we always have someone to turn to. It's not easy to find that type of group and when you do, you hold onto it. My only suggestion to people upset about our group (or "cliques") is that if they are so concerned about something maybe it needs to be about gossip and not who's hanging out with who, we aren't in High School anymore.
Yes fun times in the life of Just Me.

You're so popular. I wish I was half as cool as you.
Sounds like you had a great vacation. I'm glad you found a great house to rent. The Tournament of Kings is fun, we took my brother one year, although we discovered if you don't eat all of your food fast enough and you are in the front row you will be eating the dirt the horses kick up on to your plate (oh and it's at the Excaliber...the Luxor is right next door)
You totally need gang colors and matching tats, yo.
Sorry you forgot you camera. That sucks!
It always stinks when you return from a vacation that involved you spending a lot of money and you find out you have things you need to spend money on and fix
What are you going to name your gang? What about The Jets or The Sharks?
