Happy Canada Day, Eh

HAPPY CANADA DAY
So I'm 1/2 Canadian eh. And it's aboot time I admitted it.

Okay so I don't really talk like that, but I am 1/2 Canadian. My husband always makes fun of me but then I remind him that our children will be 1/4 Canadian which will outrank him. As a 1/2 Canadian I have the opportunity to recieve dual citizenship... I know your all jealous. I mean who wouldn't want to be a Canadian citizen? The beer is better (especially compared to Utah standards - not that I drink it), it's always cold (-13 is a good winter), and best of all I get to say eh whenever I want to, just because I can!

My sister is in the process of getting a Canadian Visa just to say that she has it. My dad is trying to get his American Citizenship (he's lived in the US for over 30 years), but he can't get his retirement if he is still living here on a green card.

We had to go through immigration the last time we were at the border because nobody thought to bring a passport or birth certificate. We've been going to Canada for the past 28 years and never had to have anything other then our Drivers License. Of course I understand with the whole 9/11 thing, the boarders have tightened up, but even after that we've never been asked for more then our drivers license. But last Christmas we were almost not allowed over the border to visit our family due to the fact that we didn't have our Passports or Birth Certificates. But luckily my sister and I sweet talked the Immigration Officer into letting us into the country with nothing more then a warning. He was also the one that told us that as a 1/2 Canadian we were able to have dual citizenship along with any children that we had. Our American husbands were just SOL. So my sister will soon be a dual citizen.
