I am so excited in three weeks me, my husband and my mom are flying to Australia to visit my friend and go to her wedding. I am so excited! I told my friend that if she ever got married I would definilty be there. Because (a) she has a travel bug and can never stay in one place for very long, and she always told us she didn't want to get married anytime soon and (b) It's Australia why wouldn't I want to go? And this is such a perfect excuse to go!
My friend has traveled the world over and then some. I wish we could be more like the Australians in that aspect (that and have a cool accent!). She works when she needs to and travels once she's gotten her cards paid down. She's been to places in Asia, Switzerland, Prague, Tibet, England, trekked through Spain, Rome, France (and probably many more European countries I can't remember), U.S., and traveled through South America.
I only wish we would be able to stay longer then the 1 1/2 weeks (with flight time and timezones it equals to about 8 days) that we have planned. We are leaving on a Sunday. I wanted to leave on 2 days sooner on the Friday but my husband has season tickets to a local College Team and they are playing their rival that Saturday so HE.CAN'T.MISS.THAT. Even for Australia? If I had know that my mom was going to come with us at the time we purchased our tickets we would have flown out Friday night and maybe stopped in Fiji or Sydney, but that didn't happen for us.
So the countdown is on for our trip to Australia! I so can't wait!

I lived in Australia for about a year, but I was so young I can't remember much. I'd love to go back and visit. So happy you get to go!
I would be so excited too!!! That's funny about your husband and the football thing, but I bet you all will have so much fun, he'll instantly forget it. Or not?
Either way - kiss a koala bear for me!! Or at least get one really cute pic of a baby one!!! If I can't go, that's my big request.
