I don't really have a favorite holiday, but I really like Halloween. I love to dress up! I love planning what I am going to wear at our Halloween party and getting it ready. This year I am dressing up as Cleopatra. I love Egyptians so this costume totally fits me! I decided instead of buying a cheaply made Cleopatra costume (which would have cost me only $30.00), I decided to sew my own costume (which is running me into the $50-60-- sshh don't tell Bob). The thing about me deciding that I wanted to sew my own costume is I have no idea how to sew. I have a sewing machine (thanks to lil miss's mom), but I don't even know how to work it yet. So it still sits in my unfinished basement begging to be fixed. My mom has a sewing machine and surger, and she's sewn clothes for us five kids most of our childhood. So for five days I've been going to my mom's house and sewing my costume. Did I chose an easy one to do... Nope, of course not, that's not what I do. But I got it finished and it looks damn good if I do say so myself.
I will post pictures on Monday of my dress and hopefully I can get Bob to dress up as a Mummy. I always have to fight tooth and nail to get him to dress up, but I've won the past two years so why not another year. I just don't understand why he wouldn't want to dress up, everyone at the party dresses up so if he doesn't he'd be the odd one out. The first year I got him to wear a cape, the second year a wig and glasses, this year I am going to the whole thing. He will be wrapped in torn up sheets (hopefully). I'll see if I can get it done in time. The party is on Saturday. I did get him a mullet so if my Mummy idea fails he can always be Joe Dirt. Bob loves mullets. He doesn't have a mullet (thank goodness) but he loves them and points them out to me whenever we see someone sporting one at the store. But if I'm going to be Cleopatra I can't be accompanied by Joe Dirt, I need a Mummy!
Happy Friday to everyone, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

top halloween costumes ben has ever worn:
3- A turtle. Dressed in green and tied a green laundry basket to his back.
2- Richard Simmons. This needs no explanation. Let your mind go wild...that's exactly what he looked like.
1- Sperm. That's right. The first Halloween I even knew who he was, he went as a sperm. Dressed in white, with a white swim cap and goggles. He went around the room shaking his body like you see the sperm do in those Discovery shows. "Lookin' for an egg... lookin' for an egg".
It was at that time I knew I had to have him.
And we lived happily ever after.
I can't wait to see pictures! And good luck getting Bob to wrap himself up in sheets!
