The Cold is here

Spring felt short and cold
Summer never really seemed to heat up
Fall - was there a fall?
Now it's Winter in the great state of Utah.

The ski resorts are thinking about opening. The air is bitter cold. I'm not ready for winter, I don't like to wear layers. My winter wardrobe needs some help and I hate buying sweaters. I don't like when our heater gets blown out by the wind and I wake up to our house being 50 degrees and our cat is curled up next to us trying to keep warm. I want to ski, but I don't want the cold that comes along with it. I also hate the cold here, because one day it will be a nice warm fall day then the next bitter cold. When this happens I get cold sores. Yes I have the Herpie virus.... ugh! I hate cold sores, so I think I relate cold sores to the winter therefore I don't like the winter.

People tend to put on their stupid hats when the snow starts to fall and the road gets icy. What makes people think they can follow 3 inches behind another car and not get into a car accident? Why turning a corner at 50 mph is a good idea when the roads are icy. I am not looking forward to the cold or the snow. Bob wants to move somewhere warm, I think I'm okay with that. I love the seasons, I love how they change. But I only like them for a week then I'm done with it. I'm ready for the warmth again.

I realize that other places get a lot colder. I don't think we dip much lower then the 30's. I definitly couldn't live anywhere they get into the negatives. A lot of my family lives in Canada and it just gets down right cold there! How do people do it? Why do they do it? If it was up to me I'd just live somewhere warm and visit the cold places.

lady luck - wasatch refers to the wasatch mountains here in utah.

justme - i find it fascinating that they call it the fresh air forecast when we all know damn well that inversion is going to hit us AGAIN this year. um... that's not fresh air! that's false advertising.

Nytro - have you not seen the Salt Lake air lately! Yeah the Inversion is here. It looks like pea soup over the valley. Not as bad as last year but it will get worse!

Did anyone hear the news story on the Great Salt Lake tidal wave that is supposed to eventually hit this valley? I just about fell over laughing at the thought of a tidal wave coming from that nasty, smelly, sad excuse for a lake.

Ewww, gross. Last night the lake smelled so bad, a tidal wave would be gross!

So now we are waiting for "the big one" earthquake and now a tidal wave?

I'm with you on the cold situation. I love the seasons but the bitter cold I could do without. And LOOOOONG! Please, it's just not right.

Being from New England originally I have dealt with my fair share of cold weather and snow. I am so glad we moved to vegas where the weather is pleasant almost all the time. I definately like being hot over cold so I share your pain. Although I do miss the seasons here some times.
