A couple of months ago (okay 6 or 7) I received a bird feeder.
It was cute but I really had no desire to put it up, that and I couldn't figure out the "perfect" location.
The other day I found the bird feeder and decided to just hang it on the fence in the corner of the yard. That way it was away from the house but still in sight if I opened the window. Upon putting the bird feeder out I wondered if the birds would eat from it. Was it in a bad location? Was the small nail I hung it on unstable and not able to support the birds weight? This was my first time trying to feed the birds, I was nervous.Yesterday, when I opened the window to air out my house. I saw 5 birds on the fence near the bird feeder. THEY HAD FOUND THE FOOD! I had a moment of joy. Then I realized that if 5 birds found the feeder how many more was to be expected? Would I know be obligated to feed said birds? I can't find the bird seeds that came with the feeder, crap now I have to buy more. Those birds are depending on me.... Okay maybe not, but in my own little world they were. My moment of joy turned into a world of obligation and responsibility.
That and now I had to make sure the birds weren't enjoying their free food when I let the cat out. I couldn't have the cat attacking my new refugees.
Yes I never knew how much responsibility a bird feeder could have on one person. Let that be a lesson to you all.

You have 5 birds and my parents have been calling me EVERY DAY for months complaining that no birds stop by (They have TWO feeders and TWO bird baths).
Maybe you could tell your birds to kindly migrate to Logan.
:)
I think my husband feels the same way about the birds and bird feeder. Soon after we put up our bird feeder, he bought a second one "just in case." Soon after that I noticed a third feeder hanging in another part of the yard. Obsessed? Yes. But I'm glad he's keeping himself busy.
im sure abby loves you for putting that up
I love bird feeders! However, with my two terrors I can't out any near any window where they could see them because the cats would go insane. Besides, all we get are pigeons and they are SO messy.
