I am tired of getting calls for medical supply stores and construction company.
In the past 5+ years that I have worked at this company we have gotten multiple wrong number calls. It's common, it happens.
But the thing I hate the most is when they argue with me. I answer the phone "Company name this is Just me". Our name clearly states what we do here. But people don't listen to the name of our company so they jump right into the purpose of the call.
"Um yes I'd like to order a medical blah blah blah."
So very nicely I say "I'm sorry you've dialed the wrong number."
Which I usually get: "But isn't this (800) 555-5555."
"Yes that is our number but you have dialed the wrong number"
"But I'm looking at your website"
"Well we are a (insert business type) and we don't sell medical supplies"
"Then why is your number on their website"
"I don't know maybe you read it incorrect"
By this point I usually hang up on the person. It's just so annoying to argue with me. I mean I know what I do here. I know what we sell and don't sell and we certainly don't sell Medical Supplies. One day I'm just going to take their order and they never will get it. Then when they acutally dial the right number with their fat fingers they can get angry at the right people for not sending the order they placed with the wrong company.
Stupid people - If I say wrong number - I really mean wrong number!

I am tired of getting faxed. Seriously. And at my last number I could not convince debt collectors that I wasn't this certain person pretending to not be this certain person. And they were tres rude about it.
This happened to me with my home number. A government housing place had our number listed as their's on their website. Turns out their number is one number off of ours. It turned really rediculous when we started getting calls from Lousiana and Texas because FEMA had posted our number as a place with rooms to rent for people struck by Katrina. We were getting calls 24 hours a day all the time! It took an incredibly firm letter to FEMA to get it al ironed out. Haven't had a call in months.
actually, people do this to my HOME number! NO, joe shmoe does not live here. is this 555-blahblah? yes it is, there is no joe shmoe here.
Either you dialed the wrong number or it has been assigned to a new residence.
I especially hate it when people are googling others w/ my same last name (i.e. bill collectors) and asking for some guy named Frank. Sorry, but if Frank lived here (or I even knew a FRANK) I wouldn't try to hide it.
