I know it's Christmas. And I know that the Post Offices are super busy.
But waiting in line yesterday for an hour was so not cool. I normally go to the Downtown Post Office because it's where our Post Office Box is and they know me. But yesterday I seriously could have gone "postal" on the post office. There was ONE person working! One -- During the Christmas Holiday -- WTF seriously WTF? That's like having only one person working during Tax Season. And when I finally got up to the ONE person working he was like a snail. Seriously. And to make matters even more worse then they already were -- his machine went down mid transaction. He couldn't print, he couldn't weight he couldn't do anything! Now I know the machine wasn't his fault but it was just the cherry on my cake. Oh yeah and did I mention that when I asked for 107 stamps equaling $1.11 so I could mail our work christmas calendars he didn't have ANY STAMPS... no stamps at the post office -- WTF!
Also the post office downtown shares a parking lot with another business building. The parking lot is not free. It's free for the first 1/2 hour. Did I mention that I was in the post office for an hour! So I demanded a validation for the parking because there was no way I was paying for parking. Yet my parking ticket was in my car. So he wrote me a "note" and said that should be good enough. But the power hungry bitch at the gate said I had to pay $3. $3 for waiting in line - no thank you. She said I could reverse and get my parking ticket validated. Oh but wait there were 3 cars behind me. So she got out of her booth and made all the cars behind me back up so I could get my damn ticket validated. My head about exploded. If I didn't like my car very much I probably would have just ran it into the building. So I had to go back into the Post Office to get my ticket validated. Then when I left the women in the box said "Have a Nice Day" I should have shown her a finger. Yea it wasn't a good day yesterday evening, especially since all I wanted to do was go home.

It does suck! I waited in line forever yesterday. I get all the way to the front to purchase my items and they tell me my card is demagnetized. BEAUTIFUL!
Now I have to go back and wait all over again! :(
I had a similar experience. I had to buy one envelope to mail a letter and the line was so long so I took the money out of my purse went up to the counter and told him I just needed one envelope and here was the money for it. He told me I had to wait in line!! What an arse! Luckily, the people in line heard what I needed and let me jump ahead of everyone since I only had one thing. I ran up to the counter, slammed the money down yelled "Keep the change" and ran out.
I should have flipped him off too!
